I tried hard to win this event. By the time I got to the top I had passed 2 guys and caught a third, I could barely see or think straight, my legs were fried and didn't even have enough for a sprint. I thought for sure it was enough to win, but it was only good enough for third. The guy who won was my height but probably 30 lbs less in weight. Must diet before next year!

Here's a photo I got of Mark near the top

Who invented the uphill time trial anyway? It is not much fun. I paced myself well all the way up, maybe too well because I had a little to much left at the end, but I was happy with 7th considering I am a full-figured male.
I have to give mad props to Mike Stubna, his time would have gotten either 3rd or 4th in the PRO field, not to shabby for someone who has less than ten races under his belt. Awesome job Mike!!!

ok, this is gonna hurt.

For those of you who don't know this is a 2.5mi uphill TT at 8%. I think this is the first time I've ever ridden a TT entirely in the small chainring. I was redlined way earlier then I had ever imagined on this climb. It's an unrelenting climb.

After my finish I waiting up top for Mike. When I saw him he didn't look good but had actually just cranked out one of the fastest times of all the categories. He said if it wasn't for my cheering he would have had no idea where he was.
